¿HOW?
MAKING THE SOAP
THE PROCESS
WITH SIMBA
When I tell someone that i make soap, the most frequent question i get asked is "How do you do it?" I can't really tell you my secret to looking amazing all the time, but what i can tell how i make my soap 🛀.

Although i love explaining this in person, i felt that a step-by-step guide up here would provide a deeper insight into the complex world of the soap-craftsmen, and also show some of my customers the origins of their soap.
THE RECIPE
There three basic elements that you put together to make soap. These are fats 😋, lye 😷 and water 💧. This formula dates back thousands of years.

There are many recipes you can use that follow this formula, but i decide to go with this one because it's simple and effective.

SCALE
To become a soap-shifter, you will need what the French call 'équipement'.
(If you're wondering, that's french for equipment).

You need:
- BUCKET (silent 't')
- GLOVES for handling those hot lyes
- SCALE not a fish's scales lol
- BAKING PAPER to put into a container
- CONTAINER something to put the baking paper into
- STICK BLENDER if you don't have one spare you can use a spoon or whisk
- SUNGLASSES eye protection has never looked so good 😎.
THE SAFETY
Do you know what the 'S' in SOAP stands for? Thats right, Safety.
Lye (NaOH) is very dangerous if not handled properly. They use it to give things a real clean, like drains. Yes, DRAINS. So if you spill a lot, it'll start cleaning your hand off. Unless your hand is a pipe. Then you have bigger problems to sort out first.
Just wear some glasses and gloves and don't spill any and it's easy.

THE MAKING
Your time has now come. You have mastered the theory, the art of soapistry. And now, you face the finale. Are you ready, to take the soap challenge?
